dress with silk satin slip, circa 1920s

Millicent Rogers, a fashion trend setter, are several examples of exquisitely made lingerie in the collection, such as this lingerie set. Fabricated in a delicate, subtle peach crepe de chine, and trimmed with hand-made lace, this piece is of particular interest because of the fine workmanship and extraordinary details. There is a discreet monogram that measures 3/8 inch high, barely discernible with the naked eye, that reads "MM" for her given name, Mary Millicent.

1920-1925 three-piece lingerie/boudoir set. A vivid and interesting color combination; these coordinates would have been quite eye-catching. Of most importance are the drawers, for they are a nice example of the transition from utilitarian drawers to sensual underwear.
