This is a gorgeous 1920s peach silk slip. I love the beautiful cream lace details inset into the bottom hem as well as front bodice. Beautiful spaghetti straps. Natural waist level-seam has inverted v-shape. Two inset side skirt inverted pleat panels below dropped waist seams. My favourite detail: the original owner of this beautiful flapper lingerie hand embroidered her initials, "A. M. R" at the left bust area. No closures, slips over the head. STUNNING! Approximate Measurements: Bust: 35 Waist: 38 Hips/dropped waist: 38 Length (from top of strap to bottom): 41 Being a looser fitting garment, wearer's measurements should be smaller than maximums for best fit. Condition: Very good. For a piece of silk lingerie that is 90 years old, this beauty is doing quite well. On close inspection, I note a couple of teeny pinholes, scuffs/small abrased areas where fabric thinned, and a couple of foxing spots. I handrepaired two areas where the bottom lace insets had separated from the silk fabric (not readily noticeable repairs). While photographing the piece, I discovered two hand-done patch repairs had been made to it (probably back in the 1920s from the looks of it). See last pic for image of one of these repairs (convo me for more photos, as I ran out of room here). I think these details actually add a wonderful touch of character and history to the garment. Since it is meant to be worn as lingerie under dresses, these issues would be invisible when worn. All in all, this fantastic item has life left, though it should be worn and stored with care.
