Marchesi di Barolo Barolo

Wine shop - Barolo, Piemonte, Italy

Nebbiolo (Italian) grape variety from the Piedmont region where it makes (DOCG) wines of Barolo, Barbaresco, Gattinara and Ghemme. Nebbiolo produces lightly colored red wines which can be highly tannic in youth with scents of tar and roses. Nebbiolo wines can require years of aging to balance the tannins with other characteristics.

Dolcetto, a red wine grape from Piedmont in Northern Italy, means “little sweet one” in Italian. Along with Barbera and Nebbiolo, it is one of the prized grapes of the Piedmont region in Italy, with evidence that it has been growing there for many centuries. It had been traditionally produced as a light (both in color and weight) table wine. http://www.snooth.com/varietal/dolcetto/

Italian Grapes: A wonderfully intoxicating world to discover. For 2 generations my family have farmed moscato and figs here in Australia. My grandfather and father bought the ancient Italian tradition and wine making skills to a new country where they would live and intertwine there two worlds and ways.
