    George Orwell, 1984 (book cover by Olle Eksell, 1959). Read it when I was in Grade Six and still traumatized to this day. Prescient and insightful about the use of media (music, news, television, film) to further the project of tyranny and control.

    I had no idea this cover was by Edward Gorey - had to read this for Trads I, permanently scarred by some of the puritan sermons therein.
