    This picture shows a person crossing where the Berlin Wall used to stand. The Berlin Wall was a barrier that was put up to divide Berlin from 1961-1989. The wall cut off West Berlin and East Germany. The wall was created by Communist East German Authorities because East Germans were fleeing to West Germany (which was democratic).
