Writing Prompts- 300+ image based writing prompts. I know I've pinned this before, but this is such a great site I want to remember this for the beginning of the new school year.

This "Book Tasting" idea could be used in a classroom (or a library). For the end of the year, students could bring in their favorite books that they've read for their classmates to "taste" and students could create a summer reading list from this fun activity. This could be fun for the beginning of the year and students can "taste" different books and fill in their reading notebook with what books they want to read that year.

Monthly Writing Activities~ Topics organized by season that can be adapted for many grade levels.

My students last year loved having whole class journals to write in. They had a chance to write in them during Work on Writing, and a chance to read them during Read to Self. I made up a new set of 8. At the moment they are pretty plain covers, but once a student writes in it they have the option of choosing a sticker from my collection to place on the front cover. The stickers show me how many kids have tackled each topic.
