I really like these seesaw 3D wall flats too. The tiles are made with Bagasse, which is a by-product of sugarcane processing. This post-industrial garbage has traditionally been discarded and sent to the landfill or burned as bio-mass. The tiles take advantage of this plentiful material by molding it into designer tiles and diverting it from landfills. How cool is that?
The industrial designer's love of colour and sculptural forms is evident is his own apartment in New York City. The black pendant light may have been too dramatic in a room with dark walls, but the white cabinets and pastel accents here keep the room light and welcoming.
