Act 3- #3 a. This mirror symbolizes what Torvald sees. Torvald only looks at the appearance and how a person acts. He does not care about the inside of a person and how they are treated. This gives the story a deeper meaning because if Torvald did not focus so much on physical beauty and focused on the inside of a person, Nora would not have left and they would lead a happy marriage.
Individually any one of these gilt mirrors lends itself to a more formal setting. But displayed en masse the pieces become a unique collection that serves as an interesting wall sculpture with a whimsical, informal effect. Consider a grouping of small like objects of varying shapes for a powerful statement.
