Terry Fox, July 28, 1958 – June 28, 1981 -- “I'm not a dreamer, and I'm not saying this will initiate any kind of definitive answer or cure to cancer, but I believe in miracles. I have to.” In 1980, Terry Fox decided to run across Canada to raise both awareness and money for cancer research. Terry accepted no money (for himself) and refused all corporate sponsorships. In total, he ran 3,339 miles over 143 days. (God I adored him)
