Sir Arthur Rostron, KBE, RD, RNR (14 May 1869 – 4 Nov 1940) was a Cunard Line captain and was master of the liner RMS Carpathia when it rescued survivors of the Titanic which sank on 15 April 1912. Rostron won wide praise for his energetic efforts to reach Titanic before she sank, and for his efficient conduct of the rescue of the survivors.
