Absolutely Worth Reading
Book Club, Worth Reading, Help, Books Worth, Movies, Favorite Books, Bookworm, Kathryn Stockett
The Help By Kathryn Stockett is one of my favorite books I read this summer. If you get a chance read it, and then go see the movie coming out this August!
The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Popular in general and a book club favorite. In Jackson, Mississippi, in 1962, there are lines that are not crossed. With the civil rights movement exploding all around them, three women start a movement of their own, forever changing a town and the way women--black and white, mothers and daughters--view one another.
The separate but "equal" south from "the help" and one brave white woman's perspective. The dialogue alone makes this book worth reading.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett 2009 (if you've just seen the movie, do yourself a favour and read the book)
The Help by Kathryn Stockett - One of the few books I didn't read until after watching the movie. The whole time I was picturing Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. Read 2012
The Help - Kathryn Stockett, terrif and the movie, for once, rivalled the book for excellence!
The Help: by Kathryn Stockett One of my favorites. Read it before the movie came out.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett - watched the movie and now very interested to read it.
Kathryn Stockett: "The Help" Finished this book so fast...now onto the movie!
loved this one.
Worth Reading, Wonderful Book, Movies Tv Music Celebs Books, Beautiful Book, Books Worth, Favorite Books, Good Books
Beautiful book, please don't judge it by the movie if you've seen it before you pick up this book to read. The book is always better then the movie, words to live by!
Don't watch the horrid movie because it does not measure up to this book. I haven't read such a good book in ages and by the end I was sobbing like a baby(as if that's a surprise). Put me on a deserted island with this book and I will die happy
Apparently some of my favorite books are love stories with a time traveling component. The film was okay, but this book was magnificent.
My favorite book of all time. Much better than the film. Intricate, creative, makes you care very much about the characters.
This one is worth reading over and over again! The movie...not so much.
Rather strange but Really worth reading!
Good book - better than the movie

Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury, 1953 Rather than ban the book outright, one CA school utilized an expurgated version of the text. Other complaints have said the book went against objectors religious beliefs. This book is an intentional disruptor--bless Ray's courage.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt - Definitely worth reading. Parts of it I loved, parts of it I hated. But whatever I think it's beautifully written, amazingly insightful and thought provoking.
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt; Book Club pick for August, 2014 -- REALLY DID NOT like this book!! No one in our Book Club liked it! Pretentious, long and boring!
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, Pulitzer Prize Winner 2014. the plot involves a young boy’s miraculous survival of a tragedy, an art heist, and New York City society.
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt is the 2014 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction! A beautifully written coming-of-age novel with exquisitely drawn characters that follows a grieving boy’s entanglement with a small famous painting that has eluded destruction, a book that stimulates the mind and touches the heart.
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. This was a great read and have not read her others.. Agree that it is Pulitzer Prize Worthy

In Sterling, New Hampshire, 17-year-old high school student Peter Houghton has endured years of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of classmates. His best friend, Josie Cormier, succumbed to peer pressure and now hangs out with the popular crowd that often instigates the harassment. The glass castle : a memoir by Jeannette Walls (Scribner, 2005) Journalist Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary and their four children lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains.
The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls. A surreal account about unbreakable children and their chaotic lives with their eccentric parents.
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. I highly recommend this moving memoir about family dysfunction and unconditional love.
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls- I really enjoyed reading this, mainly because it was a memoir but it really was a good, touching read.
'The Glass Castle' is a 2005 memoir by Jeannette Walls. The book recounts her and her siblings' unconventional, poverty-stricken upbringing at the hands of their deeply dysfunctional parents.
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls -- So worth reading! I've read it over 15 times. (Guilty!)
#7--In the last three days I fell in love with The Glass Castle. The first few chapters were charming, quirky, interesting -- I had begun my flirtationship. The Glass Castle quickly turned into a fascinating book I could not put down; I was in love. Towards the end, I felt like I had grown up with Jeannette Walls and her dysfunctional family. Even though the ending was relatively happy, I could not help but be heartbroken over the end of my new favorite book and its beautifully sad narration.
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls- A great memoir; I never found a boring point.
'The Glass Castle' is a 2005 memoir by Jeannette Walls. The book recounts her and her siblings' unconventional, poverty-stricken upbringing at the hands of their deeply dysfunctional parents. The memoir stayed on The New York Times Best Seller list for 100 weeks and is now under development as a film by Paramount. By late 2007, The Glass Castle had sold over 2.5 million copies, had been translated into 22 languages, and received the Christopher Award, the American Library Association's Alex Award (2006) and the Books for Better Living Award.
