Rose Madder is one of my favorite Stephen King books. It's about a woman who is abused by her husband, and she can't go to the cops, because he is one. It's sweet and touching and cruel at the same time.

Another amazing work by Orson Scott Card. This is second in the Ender's Game series and I absolutely loved reading it; it pulled me right through to the end.

In my opinion, the best Stephen King book ever written (and I've read them all). My ideal man falls somewhere between Bill Denbrough and Ben Hanscom.
