Jesse & Frank James...they look so different than I would have imagined

Henry Underwood of Denton TX was a notorious horse rustler who befriended Sam Bass, later riding with his gang. No pictures exist of the outlaw, who is said to have fled to Canada.

Jessie James was born on September 5, 1847 in Clay County, Missouri and he died on April 3, 1882 in St. Joeseph, Missouri. He supported the Confedertate Army during theh Civil War and he established a group of geuerrilla fighters who robbed. He started one of the most notorious gangs ever estabalished they were called the James Gang. They robbed 12 banks 7 train robberies and 4 stage coaches and 11 citizens were killed by the gang.

Jesse James' first train robbery was July 21, 1873 near Adair, Iowa. The engine, tender, and baggage cars were derailed and the engineer killed. Jesse and his brother Frank, approached the expressman with cocked 44’s. The James-Younger gang rode off with nearly $3,000—worth about $51,000 today.

Frank & Jesse James and I share Lady Dorothy Ogle as a great-grandmother. She was married to Sir Thomas Grey, James side and to Sir Thomas Forrester, my side. Lady Dorothy is also a gr-grandmother to Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and also to Princess Diana.
