    Forget about fancy accessories, sacred places, and perfect form. The way to begin to meditate is to find a comfortable cushion, sit your ass down, and shut up for a few minutes.

    Mala beads are a wonderful way of meditating on a mantra or word. Sit in a comfy position and hold the beads gently in your hand. With each repetition of the mantra or word pull a bead until you have gone all the way round. You could focus on gratitude,peace,love. Sometimes I go around thanking everybody and everything - each bead representing a different thank you.
