Lips (Stamped), 1950s Unity is created through the repetition of the image. Yet the variety of colors make the image more interesting. Andy Warhol was making a statement about mass production by repeating imagery but used many colors in his work, which provided variety.

Andy Warhol honed his talent as an illustrator while working with clients like Vogue and I. Miller shoes in the 1950s. It was also during this time that the prize-winning commercial artist devised a blotted line technique that allowed him to quickly create a variety of illustrations along a similar theme. Stamped Lips from 1959 was produced using this process, then hand-colored in various shades of pink.

Campbell's Soup I: Tomato, c.1968 Art Print by Andy Warhol / I like the way that he has use screen printing to make his print, the classic tomato soup print is my favorite by andy as he uses quiet simple shapes but the colors he uses really makes the image pop (pop art)
Andy Warhol was a very famous Pop Artist during the 1960s. This is one of his most famous paintings, called 'Campbell's Tomato Soup." Pop Art could be simple, or complex. In this simple painting, Andy Warhol depicted the post World War II media and production boom. His painting represents something that was very important, during a specific time period, which was canned food during the war.

At the times in my life when I was feeling the most gregarious and looking for bosom friendships, I couldn't find any takers so that exactly when I was alone was when I felt the most like not being alone. The moment I decided I'd rather be alone and not have anyone telling me their problems, everybody I'd never even seen before in my life started running after me to tell me things I'd just decided I didn't think it was a good idea to hear about. As soon as I became a loner in my own mind, that's when I got what you might call a "following." As soon as you stop wanting something you get it. I've found that to be absolutely axiomatic. #AndyWarhol #cosmicorgasm Campbell's Soup I: Tomato, c.1968 Art Print by Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol 1928-1987. He was a leading figure in the American pop art movement. His work included drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and silkscreening. His dad died when he was young leaving him poor. He always enjoyed art at school were he had extra art lessons. He was also famous for his work shop called the "The Factory". His famous works include: soup cans, Marilyn Monroe and tuna disaster. Silkscreening became his favourite medium. Silk screening produced replicated pictures nick named by critics "assembly line art". I like his work as all of it has clear emotion and meaning.

Kiss, 1963 Andy Warhol Motion Pictures © Andy Warhol’s Kiss is probably the artist’s earliest film work that was screened in public. Harkening back to the time when Hayes Office censors would not allow lips to touch and linger for more than three seconds in Hollywood films, with Kiss, Warhol decided to shoot male/female, female/female and male/male snogs that went on for three minutes.

ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES ACTIVITY: The painting of Marilyn Monroe (1962) Pop Art, Andy Warhol. COLOR and FORM to create EMPHASIS
The painting of Marilyn Monroe (1962) may be one of the most famous artworks from the master of Pop Art, Andy Warhol. He had an obbsession with doing his photoagraphy on celebritys. To do this art work he used screen printing. He did this technique to makethe painting look very bold and eye catching.
This is a portrait of Marilyn Monroe and this was done by Andy Warhol in 1962. This painting is one of the famous pop artwork. The main feature of pop art is based on modern culture and contains mass media. This art piece is unrealistic even though it is portrait of a person. It has the feeling of media content.

We're painting the iconic Marilyn Monroe in Pop Art (by Andy Warhol!) next Tuesday in Bank/St. Paul's. Tickets:
"Marilyn Monroe" (1962) by Andy Warhol, an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art and would become famous as the "Pope of Pop". He believed very popular subjects could be part of the artist's palette, such as Marilyn Monroe. Another example of using popular subjects would be the use of the Campbell's Soup can, which he claimed to have had for lunch for most of his life.
