Marvin Gaye (born Marvin Gay, Jr.), singer-songwriter. Called "The Prince of Motown" & "The Prince of Soul", his career spanned 3+ decades. He was Motown's top-selling solo artist of the '60s with hits How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You), Ain't That Peculiar, I Heard It Through the Grapevine and duets with Mary Wells & Tammi Terrell. His later hits included Let's Get It On, Sexual Healing, What's Going On, Just to Keep You Satisfied, Got To Give It Up, Distant Lover, Mercy, Mercy Me, and Inner City Blues. He was shot and killed by his father after an argument. R.I.P.

Marvin Gaye the man had angelic voice that had joy and pain. With this photo I was say he was in a the best of spirits.

After years of battling substance abuse, Gaye moved in with is parents to work on some personal and business issues. During a severe altercation, Marvin Gaye was killed by his father on April 1, 1984.
