    Swiss Steak •1½-2lb. round steak•2T flour•1 sliced green pepper•s,p•2T oil•1 sliced onion•16oz tomatoes, cut up•1T thick bottled steak sauce•Cut steak into serving pieces. Coat w flour, s,p. Brown meat in oil. Pour off excessive fat. In crock pot, combine meat w tomatoes, onion, green pepper, steak sauce. Cover, cook on low for 6-8 hrs or until tender. Thicken juices w additional flour, dissolved in a small amount of water, if desired. 5-6 servings. Serve w mashed potatoes.

AMISH/ Mennonite Dried Beef Gravy I grew up on this served over toast, but it's great over biscuits or mashed potatoes.

Swiss Steak by Cooking with K | Kay Little- This was pretty tasty, the only thing was there was a lot of the tomato sauce left over. So I quartered some baby bellas and sauteed them with about 1/2 -1 lb ground beef seasoned with onion powder and garlic salt and added it to the left over sauce. I brought it to a boil and added a tsp of cornstarch dissolved in water to thicken it up and served it over rice. Not sure what you would call it but we thought it was delicious for left overs.
