Saw something similiar to this in Birds and Blooms - taking old shutters, using them as plant stands so to say - really neat idea. Bought some from the Thrift Store (2 for $5 - same size) and I am going to paint them then put some plants in them to enjoy for those summer nights on our deck and firepit going. Pretty cool.

Use that old ladder that isn't safe for climbing on anymore.

I'm loving this idea (minus the bird bath) for our herb garden. I'm thinking of painting the pots the color we are painting the kitchen so it all ties in.

It is so much fun (not to mention beautiful) using our old bentwood and metal garden chairs for flower display! You can also hang a basket in the opening and use it to collect cards!

Shutter Garden - to hold rootballs in place, staple weed-cloth pockets behind each slat

Gardening in the rain . . . boots. Just visit a thrift shop to acquire the boots. You can also set them on the deck if you do not want to hang them from the fence.
