Using shutters painted white as a feature behind our bench seat on the patio, maybe suspend them from the ceiling and secure them so they don't bang into the wall. Hang small potted plants painted the same blue as the bench seat off them.

Saw something similiar to this in Birds and Blooms - taking old shutters, using them as plant stands so to say - really neat idea. Bought some from the Thrift Store (2 for $5 - same size) and I am going to paint them then put some plants in them to enjoy for those summer nights on our deck and firepit going. Pretty cool.

Laundry Basket Planter ~ What a great idea!

I'm loving this idea (minus the bird bath) for our herb garden. I'm thinking of painting the pots the color we are painting the kitchen so it all ties in.

Self-watering planter made from recycled bottles. (I'd want to try this with a 2-liter plastic bottle, and cut the top off, so I could get the root system out intact for transplants.)

It is so much fun (not to mention beautiful) using our old bentwood and metal garden chairs for flower display! You can also hang a basket in the opening and use it to collect cards!

Bike Planter. I'd probably crash the bike and kill them all, though.
