My son had a baseball coach who told the kids at the end of practice to thank someone when he or she went home. "Someone signed you up for this class. Someone paid for this class. Someone got you here today. Someone packed you a snack." Etc. Teach your children to think about who makes all these things happen, not just take them for granted! Great, great reminder! Time is...When wandering the historic gardens of Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, I was moved by this poem inscribed on a beautiful sun dial on the property. It is an adaptation of a poem by the founding couple's friend Henry Van Dyke. Considering the sad history of the family, I found it very poignant.
