Spelling Battleship: 2 player game. Each player inserts his word list in spaces going across (one letter per box). Players take turns guessing coordinates. If they miss, they mark it on their board. If they hit a letter, they keep guessing until they miss. If they sink a word, the player marks it off of his list. The goal of the game is to sink all of your opponent's words." I should do this for teaching the sight words... it'll help to make it more fun and practice letters.

Kindergarten Sight Words - print & laminate. An activity to do would be to get clothespins write one letter on each clothespin (some letters you will need more than 1 of - such as 2 e's for "here" or "please"), and then match the clothespins to the letters of each sight word, and then say the sight word

Spelling word practice. If we used a board like this, it would save us from having to photocopy those packets every week. We'd be able to do just a front & back page for vocab list and spelling list instead.(And plus, these activities are way more fun than the current ones we assign.)

Word Chants with a twist….or an Aaarrrgh! Each card gives a unique way in which the chant should be done. Such as… Sing each word like an opera singer. Read each word like a robot with a computerized voice. Read each word as you pose like a statue.
