Good idea. Every January, turn all of the hangers in my closet backwards, like this. It takes about 60 seconds: Each time you wear an item, hang it back up in the normal fashion, which takes zero effort to remember or do. In June, any item that is still hanging backwards has not been worn in 6 months, and donate it to Goodwill unless you can come up with a good reason to save it... What a reality check.

Great New Years Idea, Closets can be the worst culprit for junk, but if you’ve ever tried to sort through your clothes you know how hard it can be to let go. With this trick, you work backwards and let your actions make the decisions for you. ...I'm so doing this... On January 1st turn all of the hangers in your closet backwards, like this. Each time you wear an item, hang it back up in the normal fashion, which takes zero effort to remember or do. In June, any item that is still hanging backwards has not been worn in 6 months, and so donate it to Goodwill or sell to Plato's closet (if in good shape and still in fashion) unless you can come up with a good reason to save it. So if an item goes unworn for 6 months its usually because its out of style, it doesn’t fit, or YOU JUST DON'T LIKE IT. Then turn all of your hangers backwards again and count down to January. Good Luck, and remember you can do it!

On January 1st, turn all your hangers backwards. As you wear clothes, turn the hanger around. Anything that is still backwards on June 1, donate.... Such a good idea!

I like the jewelry organizer hanging, instead of all my supplies in drawers where I have to dig for them.

Turn all of the hangers in your closet backwards. As you wear clothes and put them away, put the hangers in the regular way. At the end of the season, it will be clear to you what clothes you actually wear. When winter comes, donate or sell the summer clothes you never wore. You’ll easily know which ones you don’t wear, because the hanger will still be backwards.

A fix for those jeans with the pesky zipper that won't stay up. Also would work for early prego jean wearing when you aren't ready for maternity but you can't button your jeans. I used the rubber and trick but the zipper would eventually slide down. No more!!

Closet turned into a study nook. Such a clever use of space. I love it!
