This article identifies and explains useful apps students can use in the classroom (the author fully supports the use of cell phones during class time). Many of the apps support students and can also serve as differentiation techniques. Cell phone use can also increase the sense of student ownership of their own learning. If I decide to allow my students to use their cell phones, I can use any of these apps to make this policy beneficial to my students.

Dropbox: A Superb Classroom Tool Dropbox Explained Video and How to Share a Folder with Students from plpnetwork.com
DropBox is a tool where teachers can upload files and the students cam access them from anywhere they are. We use this in our EDIT 2000 class so we can view and read specific chapters from textbooks instead of buying the whole book. DropBox allows us to access a variety of media published to a wide audience.
This board is an attempt to separate the wheat from the chaff--and help teachers and students find the apps that truly have "cognitive value."
Dropbox is a method of submitting documents for both public or private use. In the classroom, this tool allows students to publish and reference peer documents and to engage with others. Students can communicate ideas and information to multiple audiences by submitting their own documents.
Educator Jennifer Carey describes DropBox as a multifaceted tool that’s so powerful, you’ll continue to discover new ways to use it, including storing and syncing documents and files across computers, tablets, and smart phones.
FREE and get 250 MB for free. This is a great way to keep organization for students and for educators to share with their students. Additionally, many applications that you likely use (Evernote, Things, 1Password, Elements, to name a few) have a Dropbox sync option.
Need to start using this for school stuff!
