The Violet Snail is found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and eastern Tasmania!
I used to have three snails. They were each rescued from somewhere completely different. One died within only a few months due to a pesticide on a plant that she swallowed before we rescued her from a hotel. After that the other two mated, and had twenty seven babies if I didn't miss count. Then their tank was getting too small, so we let them free in our backyard. The two parent snails slithered up the stem of a rose side by side, just like the snail in this photograph is doing. It was so sweet, my sister cried! What an incredible species this is. And since then, favored snails, and thought of them as my favorite animal. My friends even nicknamed me Snail!
