kindles don't have this kind of magic. Real books will always have relevance, there's nothing like the smell of an old book, or a new one for that matter. Gotta admit, I love the Kindle app for living on an island with a limited selection though. True Bibliophiles gobble up whatever they can get their hands on. Love to read an old book with history, though.

There is something to be said for being able to just hold a good book and get the experience of turning the pages and being able to flip back when you want. You can of course always go back in a digital copy of a book, but it is sometimes hard to remember how far back it was because you can’t always visualize how many pages you have turned.

carl sagan - “Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic.”

But this was her traveling journal and this is the only one that survived the war." Her face relaxed as she looked up at James. "This can definitely help us."

I'm not against Kindles at all, but I suspect I'll always prefer paper books. Holding them, flipping the pages, smelling them, feeling the paper, everything.

Books are magical. They aren't made of pages and words. They're made of hopes, dreams and possibilities.
