Greyhounds were one of my first choices for a service dog... still are in many ways.this image is a great example of their wide capacity to assist and love.

Patrick Connelly Yes. I meant the rescue group treated us with extreme rudeness. I am unsure from where they get their dogs. We ended up getting a GSD who is my buddy/shadow. Great with at home assistance but his public access work was not up to par. :)

As the president of a Greyhound adoption group, I can tell you with certainty that these racers are NOT keep in small cages. The crates are large enough for the dogs to stand up, turn around and lie down with plenty of room to stretch out. The dogs are turned out 4 times a day and they are well cared for. The kennels are swept out and mopped every day and the thick carpets that the dogs sleep on are washed on a regular basis.

If greyhound racing is so great & they are treated ' right' why are so many tracks being closed down? Greyhound racing is not an 'innocent' sport. Animals are not here for our exploitation, those involved need to find a real job .... One that doesn't make money off an animal!

@Patc pat,thk you for rescuing them, they are such gentle loving dogs & it breaks my heart to see how they are treated, basically raced to death, thk goodness more & more people are realizing what an cruel & inhumane 'sport' this is.

Another great one. I would add: ask the dog "Did you go out and look for a job today?'
