What if Everybody Did That? by Ellen Javernick This one should come standard with every primary classroom. The book goes through a day with a little one who does things without thinking, like feeding zoo animals despite the warning signs not to. He's got that same feeling that lots of kids do - that their actions won't make that big of a difference. But the community helpers in this book get him to think of what would happen if everybody did that. Great freebie for introducing rules. Kids answer the question, "What if everyone did that?" Love it!
What if Everybody Did That?: A good book to teach the need for rules and how our actions have consequences
Please Play Safe: A Penguins Guide to Playground Safety by Margery Cuyler. I lucked into this one! I found it at Half-Price Books! It's perfect to read before your first recess and talks about slide, monkey bar and even general playround safety. Very cute, too!
Used the book "No David" to practice making inferences (good guesses) about what was happening. Before reading, looked at each picture, wrote down a guess and added a blurb about the picture clue they used to make it.
