If you haven't done it already, search people on Pinterest and look for Teachers Notebook (yellow pencil graphic). They've already pinned so many ideas for all grade levels.

I like the idea of taking simple sentences from favorite books to use for fluency practice.

I plan on using this book to introduce the concept that we can choose how we react to a situation. But it would work for learning colors, too!
