William Nelson Pendleton. (1809-83) Virginia. USMA Class of 1830 (Artillery). "Parson" Pendleton was a teacher, an Episcopal priest, and soldier. Served as Lee's chief of artillery for several years. Wounded twice, kicked by a mule, and skittish in several engagements, he finished the war in charge of reserve ordnance.

Lady Hamilton, wife of Sir William, British envoy to the court at Naples and hostess to many Grand Tourists. She was considered a great beauty.
