Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother

    • Michele D

I loved this book! It was controversial, honest, entertaining and life-changing for me. I secretly wish I was a tiger mother. I think she is spot on when she talks about the correlation between accomplishments and confidence. One of my goals is to raise confident children, and she was enlightening in that aspect.

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua published in 2011. “This is a story about a mother, two daughters, and two dogs. This was supposed to be a story of how Chinese parents are better at raising kids than Western ones. But instead, it's about a bitter clash of cultures, a fleeting taste of glory, and how I was humbled by a thirteen-year-old.”

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua. While I don't necessarily subscribe in whole to Amy Chua's parenting style, I do love her honesty and wit. And there's gotta be something to be said for a mom who is willing to admit that, "It doesn't always work!"
