One of our readers, Terry, has been collecting Fenton opalescent hobnail and Moonstone for many years. It looks so captivating when grouped together. Moonstone was made by Anchor Hocking. Early hobnail glass, in translucent colors, dates back at least the 1880's from the glass makers of West Virginia. Fenton's "French" opalscent hobnail was first used for perfume bottles produced in 1938. Experts can tell the difference in makers by the size and feel of the hobnail
