1925 Soviet Union - family listens to an evening broadcast. Under Lenin's direction, radio was a priority for the Russians and great efforts were made to keep it under government control. As a result of such centralized control, radio broadcasting was very advanced in USSR in 20's. In 1922 Moscow had the most powerful radio broadcasting station in the world, and in 1925 the world's first short-wave station went into operation in the Russian capital.
