Jimmy Carter Helps Habitat For Humanity Build 1000th Home In New Orleans ... "I believe that anyone can be successful in life, regardless of natural talent or the environment within which we live. This is not based on measuring success by human competitiveness for wealth, possessions, influence, and fame, but adhering to God's standards of truth, justice, humility, service, compassion, forgiveness, and love."
I have always admired Jimmy Carter - I voted for him in 1976! Although he is not known as the strongest or most popular president, he was a person of integrity and conviction. Since leaving office, he has worked tirelessly for human rights, alleviation of hunger, and has been a champion of Habitat for Humanity. He is the only president to have received a Nobel Peace Prize after leaving office for his humanitarian efforts. He is a great human being.
