      Using Photoshop to determine if two photographs are the same ancestor KZ note: This works for some, but in my family photo shop tries to merge my dau, myself, my mother and my grandmother in photos of a similar age. Best of Luck.

      Using Photoshop to determine if two photographs are the same ancestor. This would come in handy to compare a child's photo to an adult. Also, mature women had some drastic hair style changes over the year and are difficult to identify from different eras.

    Before their burial, the deceased would be photographed in their best clothes and 'posing' (propped up) with their living relatives. In some instances, eyes were painted onto the closed eyelids of the deceased to make them appear alive. In Victorian times when photographs were rare, this might be the only photo the family had of their dearly departed.
