This helped my son work on blending sounds as well as slowing down and resisting the urge to guess words. Paint and read learning to read activity for kids

For each book your child reads, they get to add a new chain. (keep track, by writing the names of the books on each chain link) If you have older kids that are reading longer books, add a chain for every 30 minutes or hour that child reads. [Would be great to add a line for when they cross, a treat or special outing is awarded]
