In case you remember the good things in live
Shhh...You're Still Dreaming
The fog slowly lifted from the sea; wisps of mist curl into the low hanging clouds. His body slumped as he gazes across the ocean. His eyes search but do not find. His eyes search for things he wishes he didn't lose. He searches for the boat that is carrying his wife and daughters. The enemies. His family.

Though many believe that is photo is by Henri Cartier Bresson, it isn't, according to Foundation Cartier Bresson in Paris. It's not in their archives. Would love to know who the photographer is!
Photo by Lithuanian-born photographer Andrej Vasilenko on a Lithuanian beach. It was shot in 2007 [three years after Cartier-Bresson passed away]. The model is Miglė Narbutaitė [not Isabelle Huppert], who was a fellow photo student at the time Vasilenko shot the photograph for a school assignment. Just to make sure VASILENKO gets HIS credit.
Henri Cartier-Bresson. This makes me curious as to whats happening. Why is she turned around. Are they supposed to be taking a portrait together. Why are they on the beach and she is fully clothed. Is this the intention of the photo and what was the purpose of staging this set up. I love the mystery.

Henri Cartier-Bresson. SPAIN. Madrid. 1953. The priest steps up to bring the Blessed Sacrament to an ill person during a procession. This photo is an example of the ritual of the anointing of the sick. It shows the priest distributing the sacrament. I found the image dark, but by the priest being there, it brought light.

In my opinion, this photo is so emotional. The black and white effect does a really good job in showing the historical time period and the two little boys focusing on their wheel just makes the viewers cry "awww..." In addition, the photograph has really good leading lines and background.
Henri Cartier-Bresson (Palermo, Italy, 1971). One of my favourite street photographs of all time; life, death, joy, sorrow, play, work, sunshine and shadow, duty and freedom, fatality and innocence - all in one image!

Here is a photo by famous photographer Henri Cartier Bresson, he is a documentary style photographer that shoots only in black and white. I really like this photo and have chosen it as research because it shows not only architecture with the nice lines and shapes in the stairs, it also shows a bike which adds something to the photo and gives a sense of something going on.
This is a photo by Henri Cartier Bresson. It inspires me because I love photography, and I really appreciate his work. Its all in black and white and of very ordinary subjects. It proves that anything can be art.

"Hyères, France" in 1932 by Henri Cartier-Bresson (Chanteloup-en-Brie 1908 - Montjustin 2004). French photographer considered to be the father of modern photojournalism. He was an early adopter of 35 mm format, and the master of candid photography. He helped develop the "street photography" style that has influenced generations of photographers who followed. His photographs were first exhibited at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York in 1932.

This image taken by Henri Cartier Bresson. Henri Cartier Bresson is another photographer that is an extraordinary story teller. He does a lot of street photography, which fascinates me because it is something I can relate to. It seems like all of his photos are either timed very well or are staged in order to tell a certain narrative. He uses lines very well in his composition such as the image I pinned in order to direct the eye and take the viewer on a journey.

Les Halles, Paris, 1952 French people have white skin. Ethnic French. That's cuz it's NORTH. People w/less melonin don't NEED it cuz they get less SUNSHINE genetically over the centuries, just as people in Africa NEED more melonin to be able to not burn in the hot sun. It's a matter of Geography. Skin Color. So sick of it. you know what i mean? Can't we all just get along. .. Long as there's no SHARIA involved...

Amazing story of finding the woman whose amazing photos photographer John Maloof discovered in an abandoned storage locker! "Finding Vivian Maier" - Neatorama
Vivian Maier's photographs were seemingly destined for obscurity, lost among the clutter of the countless objects she'd collected throughout her life. Instead these images have shocked the world of street photography and irrevocably changed the life of the man who brought them to the public eye.
I love this self portrait for a few reasons: 1. It uses great shallow depth of field 2. The monochrome aspect of it adds intensity to the photograph 3. The camera is not in the photo so it adds a sense of mystery
Vivian Maier -- Great photographer. Interesting story, although sad in the fact she died days before knowing her and her art were going to be famous. Read her bio! Self Portrait, 1955
"Self Portrait, 1955" by Vivian Maier I don't know how I missed posting this when her show came to Seattle this year. The shy and unknown photographer only came to light when an unsuspecting junk collector sprung open a box. I am not sure she even saw most of her work printed, as she strolled the world camera in hand. Proof, I suppose, that photography is really an act of the mind, not a technical achievement along. -- ann-marie stillion
