Traditional portuguese filigree earrings, from Viana do Castelo, called "arrecadas". This is one of the few cases in which jewelery of the privileged classes imitated popular pieces of jewelery. Currently it is circular in shape, with a moon shaped part, filigreed "SS", closing with an inverted triangle. They are made with open filigree, sometimes they have a Viana bead in fitting, or have beads all the way around (usually five).
