The reclaimed wood top for this island is great. I hope to have something similarly unique, with great patina or texture, for the dining-room side of my bar/pass-through. Love the style of this kitchen! The unexpected accents & salvaged finds not only bring a great unique style to the kitchen but work great with a small budget!
Vintage red-checked bedding from the Paris flea market echoes the red-checked window-shade fabric from Ralph Lauren in one of the guest rooms. Antique wicker hamper from Bloom. Iron bed from English Country Antiques.
Kate Schintzius, associate designer for M.Design Interiors, resides in this West Hollywood apartment. She went for a “Palm Beach in the 70s” vibe, and it’s pretty incredible! The furnishings are vintage, thrift, eBay and Craigslist finds. www.designspongeo...
Love when a design plan is well thought out! Creative Counter Space: Creative stow-and-go solutions are a must in a small kitchen space. Here, a rolling cart tucks neatly into this island to offer additional workspace as needed. The cart can be wheeled throughout the kitchen to give multiple cooks room for meal prep and staging.
Make Over Kitchen Color Before color was added to this kitchen, it was safe and serviceable but lacked pop. With a fiery red wall and windows accented with patterened roman shades, the room grabs your attention. The color scheme comes full circle with red knobs on the island and matching shades on the pair of chandeliers.
This has long been one of my favorite kitchens. Repurposed elements give this kitchen an elegant, old-world aesthetic. Beautiful framed art, topiary & copper pot accents
