There are frequent buses and trains to Oxford, England (pictured) from London for £20 or less. It is a lovely place to visit just outside of London with plenty of history. The architecture of the three university buildings have given Oxford the nickname "The City of Dreaming Spires". Fun fact from Oxford City Guide: "Hitler was intending to use Oxford as his capital if he conquered England which is one of the reasons it was not bombed."
