Pizza dough mix! Put it all in a quart sized bag then on pizza night just add hot water! 3 c flour 2 Tbsp sugar 1 tsp salt 1 packet of yeast (~2 Tbsp) Add 1 c very warm water and a splash of olive oil. Let rise at least a half hour. Longer is better, I think. Punch down and rest 10 minutes. Shape pizza and add toppings. Bake until cheese is melted, about 15 min. Makes 2-14 inch round pizzas.
Old Fashioned Bread Pudding ~ is easy and tastes like the good old days. Want to make it a bit different and fancy? Add chopped apples or cherries, even chopped canned peaches or pears. Serve it cold or hot with maple syrup...any way you like it.
I see all these cool recipes using cake mixes and I usually dont have any on hand. I found this recipe on Recipelink.com, where it is credited as being from Make Your Own Groceries. Ive used it, and it does the job! There is another cake mix recipe on this site (#182515), but I thought Id go ahead and post this one since it is slightly different (its made with shortening, so it can be made ahead and stored in a plastic bag) and it also includes notes for variations. Im posting a recipe for a chocolate cake mix as well.
I used M&M's in place of the chocolate chips and I needed to use about 1-2 more cups of flour, but they are awesome...just be prepared to for the mass quantity it produces. If you don't have an amish friendship bread starter, this site has the recipe to make your own along with a couple of variations including gluten-free.
