I make shrimp tacos a lot... I buy the bag of frozen shrimp (16-20 count, raw, unpeeled) thaw them out in a collander under cold running water. Season with cumin, salt, pepper, garlic, olive oil. Heat pan over medium high heat and saute 5-7 minutes until they turn pink. Set aside and serve with tortillas, sour cream, chopped cilantro, sliced cabbage, lime wedge, avacado, etc... Any kind of taco is fool proof! And don't be afraid of unpeeled shrimp... they are easy-peezy to peel after they thaw.
