Learning Style Questionnaire This quiz is for younger grades and other questionnaires like this are important in DI. Benefits: you know your learners, can create a lesson around your learners, and can help your students learn the material. Challenges: it will take time to administrate and will take time to read and understand each learner. I feel this is important to give to students especially at the start of the school year because it will help with your DI planning. This is a low prep item.

Differentiated Kindergarten, Differentiated Activities, Business Differentiation, Classroom Teaching Ideas, Differentiated Instruction, Differentiation Idea, Tiered Lesson
Differentiated Instruction This is a helpful template because it allows you to plan out your lesson, but have differentiated activities for your students. My mentor teacher uses a similar model and I find that it really helps my students. Differentiated activities give them confidence because they are comprehending what they are learning instead of the material going over their heads.
#3 This is a differentiation idea for Kindergarten. In kindergarten one of the core standards is to add numbers. In this lesson the teacher tiers the lesson for student's readiness (pg 3) All of the students are practicing adding numbers. When doing the activities some students will work to add numbers 1-10, some will be ready to work on numbers 1-20, and some who are not quite ready will practice adding numbers 1-5.
Tiering. "Fulfilling the Promise of the Differentiated Classroom." This math lesson is a great example of a tiered activity! The core standard is set, an assessment was issued that showed the readiness levels of her students, a whole group activity was beneficial to everyone, and then time was given for the students to work on their own ability level to get the instruction and practice they need. I love tiering and want to use it often as a teacher!

Multiple Intelligence Chart for use in Differentiating Instruction
Nice Flowchart, Intelligence Chart, Differentiation Activities, Activity Template, Student-Centered Resources, Planning Template, Differentiated Instruction
Pg 79 in the book talks about using tiered strategies. This is nice flowchart to help you make sure all students are reaching the same key concept and that you base your tiers on the student's readiness and linked to assessment.
Multiple Intelligence Chart for use in Differentiating Instruction. P. 79 "Tiering assumes that within a particular lesson or product, a wide range of students should work toward the same knowledge, understanding, and skill. However, it acknowledges the varied readiness levels of students in approaching the task and thus presents the work at different levels of difficulty."
Multiple Intelligence Chart for use in Differentiating Instruction This is one of the better visuals regarding differentiation because it moves from the key concept to pre-assessment.
