Anne Boleyn's Chair, Hever Castle.... Drawing of an old carved chair purported to have belonged to Anne Boleyn, and purchased for Hever Castle in Victorian times. The chair is thought to be of Italian origin. Chairs such as this were rare and very high status in Tudor times.

Our first cousin, many generations removed, at least four lines: Queen Anne Boleyn, wife of Henry VIII, and niece of our direct ancestor, Thomas Howard, Duke of Norfolk. (see our Cogburn-Poston and our Yarbrough-Cary ancestry charts) By Richard Burchett Oil on panel, 1850’s
Anne Boleyn by Richard Burchett. Oil on panel, painted in the 1850s and now in the Palace of Westminster collection.
These portraits were painted in the 19th century copying portraits that were painted before. These portraits were not accurate Anne Boleyn - kings-and-queens Photo
Anne Boleyn - (c.1501/1507 – 19 May 1536) was Henry's second wife and the mother of Elizabeth I. Henry's marriage to Anne, and her subsequent execution, made her a key figure in the political and religious upheaval that was the start of the English Reformation. Vivacious. Wit. Cheerful. Fearless. Determined. Charming. Ambitious. Politically astute. Highly intelligent. Sharp tempered.

Days 1969, Anne Boleyn, Queen, Movies, Movie Costumes
Anne Boleyn in "Anne of the Thousand Days." I loved this movie and this actress ( Geneviève Bujold) playing Anne. The costumes were one of my first introductions to Tudor fashion.
Genevieve Bujold as Anne Boleyn in "Anne of the Thousand Days" (1969). The best portrayal of Anne Boleyn yet, in my opinion. Having the French Canadian accent helped Ms. Bujold in her portrayal of the tragic queen. Anne always aspired to All Things French; she even had a little dog named "Porquoi". Costumes by Margaret Furse, who won the Oscar for Best Costume Design.
Genevieve Bujold as Anne Boleyn in Anne of the Thousand Days (1969). This was actually a wonderful movie and many scenes were filmed at Hever Castle.
Anne Boleyn’s Blue Gown (Anne of the Thousand Days, 1969). The dialogue is top notch and Richard Burton as Henry VIII - perfect casting.

Anne Boleyn - Second Wife of King Henry VIII Anne of the Thousand Days (1969) - Geneviève Bujold
Genevieve Bujold as Anne Boleyn in "Anne of the Thousand Days" (1969). I imagine Ms. Bujold to be fairly close to Anne in physical appearance; including her eyes- Anne's eyes were described as "black" and "almond shaped". Ms. Bujold speaks French (Canadian) fluently just as Anne did. I read in "Wolf Hall" that Anne named one of her little dogs "Pourquoi" ("Why?") because of the constant questioning expression on the dog's face (fact?) Poor, saucy, too-clever-for-her-own-good Anne.

Anne Boleyn (middle) in TV series The Tudors. The Tudor period usually refers to the time between 1485 and 1603, specifically in relation to the history of England and Wales. This coincides with the rule of the Tudor dynasty in England whose first monarch was Henry VII (1457-1509)

"Though most of the gowns for the BBC’s Henry VIII were rented, the wardrobes of both Queen Anne Boleyn and Katharine of Aragon were made especially for the production by Lucinda Wright. This lovely, red velvet gown was created for Helena Bonham Carter.." and was later worn by Natalie Dormer in the Tudors

Queen Anne Boleyn (1501-1536) A successful femme fatale. How did she weave such a strong spell over Henry VIII.
Anne Boleyn There is some dispute over the year in which Anne was born – most likely between 1501 and 1507. Anne's father was the courtier and diplomat, Sir Thomas Boleyn and her mother, Elizabeth, was the daughter of the Duke of Norfolk.
