Upcycled bulb stars - using old Christmas lights to make sun catchers. I came across a blog last year with the same concept, only using twine to tie them all together and secure them with glue. The project turned out beautifully. It's fun to mix and match bulbs to come to a truly unique "snowflake." .:Conversion From Bulb to Ornament:. Take standard Christmas light bulb, hollow it out, add some inexpensive beads, seal the hole with copper tape, then solder. Solder on a head pin, put a bead cap and bead on it and wire-wrapped a loop. Make a simple hook out of brass wire to hang.
Snowman Christmas Tree Ornament ~ He is made from a recycled light bulb and is painted with a textured spray paint and embellished with a plaid scarf, buttons, stick arms, bead eyes and warm fleece hat. He comes with an ornament hook attached to the top.
Year after year, colored twinkle light bulbs are certain to burn out. Instead of tossing them out, collect them for decorating wreath forms. Here, an all red wreath is created by adding glue to the backs of discarded red bulbs, then using them to decorate the front of the wreath.
