Paula Deen's gooey butter cake... A couple of years ago, my teenage son had this at her restaurant. He loved it sooo much, he said I just had to find out how to make it. I was delighted to tell him that I already had the recipe at home! 25 years ago, I had entered it in our church cookbook! I guess I used to make it so much that I had slowly quit making it at all. These days it's the requested dessert by all of his friends!
My sister-in-law brought this to Thanksgiving several years back, and my now 12-year old son absolutely LOVED it. Gooey butter cakes have been since a holiday favorite, so I just had to pin this recipe since my son just picked this recipe for his "holiday traditions" home economics recipe project!
