Mark Twain was born on the day of the appearance of Halley's Comet in 1835, and died on the day of its next appearance in 1910. He himself predicted this in 1909, when he said: "I came in with Halley's Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it."

In light of the recent discussion on who should be rescued first from danger, this humorous “rescue etiquette” guide from Mark Twain is apropos. Twain wryly lists the order in which 26 types of people should be rescued.

Twain . I realize now, that people who do not like to read, usually, are people who have a hard time reading, or have an attention deficit disorder. Something that should have been dealt with when the child was young...perhaps a brain-eye disconnect. Don't always blame the child, please. It isn't their fault.
