"Perfect for clearing up...'that's not fair!'" This quote provides some simple language to explain differentiation. This would be a good way to present differentiation to students and have a conversation about why different student do different things. Students can be reminded that you will do what each individual needs, including them! (INTASC 2)-EW

This is special education...Some students need more than others to succeed. This is what you say when people say it isn't fair that special education students get extra stuff. I actually had a gen ed teacher say it wasn't fair that a special ed student got more time on an assignment. The student probably thinks it's not fair that he has a learning disability. **As a parent this is what I need to get across to my kids when they start in with the complaining & guilt tripping......**

teaching kids the consants that they get mixed up. I actually came up with the idea of the word bed last week to help my 5 year old distinguish b and d, just didn't think to use the hands to even further reinforce it. And she has another one for p and g. Brilliant!

I would like to frame this and give it to my team members as a back to school gift. :-) Good Idea, Teaching Sisters.
