Buried pots contain aggressive herbs. This would be a great solution in the herb garden, probably would make weeding/weed blocking easier too. Could maybe turn another bucket upside down over the plant for winter protection (maybe for young blueberry bushes?).

Container garden-Note the wall of food gardening, the tomatoes are on the trellis. Use indeterminate tomatoes for the trellis because they are the ones that grow large.

Submerge pots to control growth of spreading plants/herbs.

Rhubarb cloches., though it at first glance i thought what great compost containers large "lidded pots" would make in a small garden.

Plant tulip bulbs in November then forget about them until the following Spring. After they've flowered allow them to dry out, lift them shaking off any excess soil and store in a paper bag in a dry, dark place. Plant them again the following Autumn. This way bulbs can last years!

indoor herbs . . . in lovely pots add to elegance and beauty. In the summer, they can go outside.
