Flower Hat Jellyfish: Has multicolored tentacles trailing from a translucent, pinstriped bell.
The flower hat jellyfish (Olindias formosa) is a species of jellyfish occurring in the West Pacific off southern Japan. Characterized by lustrous tentacles that coil and adhere to its rim when not in use, the flower hat jelly's bell is translucent and pinstriped with opaque bands, making it easily recognizable. The flower hat jelly can grow to be about 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter. Flower hat jelly fish live short lives, approximately 4–6 months.
This Olindias Formosa, or flower hat jellyfish, is a rare species and is generally small in size with a width of just about six inches. It is very striking with shades of purple and orange colours. It has appearance of having a neon pink flower hat on its head because its tentacles, when not in use, coil up and sticks to the rim. It has a painful sting but non-lethal to humans. It mainly feeds on small fish. It inhabits Brazil, Argentina and Japanese waters.

The helmet jelly (Periphylla periphylla) is one of the most common deep sea jellyfish in the world and is found in every ocean except for the Arctic. Living between 1000 and 7000 meters depth, it moves up to shallower waters at night because light is toxic to the species. To avoid predation, the helmet jelly can use bioluminescence as a means of distracting predators. Photos © Kåre Telnes

"World's Largest Jellyfish... ever discovered was a Lion's Mane jellyfish. It had a bell (body) with a diameter of 2.3 m (7 feet 6 inches) and tentacles 36.5 m (120 feet) in length. It was found washed up on the shore of Massachusetts Bay in 1870. To put that into perspective, the largest blue whale ever recorded was a mere 110 feet long."
The Lions Mane Jellyfish is the largest jellyfish in the world. They have been swimming in arctic waters since before the dinosaurs (over 650 million years ago) and are among some of the oldest surviving species in the world. This reminds me of that episode of spongebob where that giant jellyfish follows him around :)
This badass creature is a lion’s mane jellyfish. They are one of the largest sea creatures known to man. They are also one of the oldest species, dating back to dinosaur times. In the open ocean, they act as floating oases for other living things such as shrimp, medusafish, butterfish, harvestfish, and baby prowfish. They not only provide sustenance by allowing these smaller fish to feed on them. But, they provide protection from larger predators. Although they only live for one year, they seem to really make the most of it. There’s a hearty lesson in there somewhere. <3

Hyrdomedusa In the dark waters near the Pacific Ocean seafloor a hydromedusa waves enough tentacles to appear rather like its ancient Greek namesake, Medusa. Medusae, which bud asexually from bottom-dwelling polyps, are just one stage of this jellyfish’s life cycle. Males and females release sperm and eggs, which spawn freely in seawater and form new polyps to begin the cycle again. Translucent Marine Animal Photos -- National Geographic

PURPLE-STRIPED JELLY is a species of jellyfish that exists primarily off the coast of California in Monterey Bay. The bell (body) of the jellyfish is up to 70 cm (27.6 inches or 2.3 feet) in diameter, typically with a radial pattern of stripes. The tentacles vary with the age of the individual, consisting typically of eight marginal long dark arms, and four central frilly oral arms. It is closely studied by scientists due to not much being known about their eating habits.
