I like the idea of using paper plates to make bulletin boards pop -- makes the classroom more fun, too! :-)
I love the colors on this bulletin board, the plates as a 3D title, and the fact that it's probably not an actual bulletin board at all. Way to make empty wall space work!
Use die cut letters on paper plates for titles. A different look for the bulletin board.
And maybe making this my Bulletin Board this year & splitting it into Reading & Math

Instead of using popsicle stick, use clothespins! Once you've called that friend... clip it onto the bucket! I like this idea for calling on kids to answer questions-- so that you don't choose the same kids all the time use for kids calling on kids too, they just reach in and grab a name!
Instead of using popsicle stick, use clothespins! Once you've called that friend... clip it onto the bucket! I like this since I'm always losing and dropping the sticks! Good idea.
Self regulating turn taking procedure = Place the bucket beside the centre/piece of equipment that children need to take turns using - have the students indicate that they are next by clipping their clothes pin to the side of the bucket.
This would be a good idea but I would need at least 6 or 7. Instead of using popsicle stick, use clothespins! Once you've called that friend... clip it onto the bucket!

Brilliant idea! 5 gallon bucket seating...do this instead of chairs for small group table, because 6 chairs don't all fit correctly. These might work better than the milk crates under the kidney tables.
5 gallon bucket seats. Great for guided reading tables! http://hanginoutinthirdgrade.blogspot.com/2011/07/paint-bucket-stools.html
5 gallon bucket seating.. instead of chairs for small group table, as 6 chairs don't all fit correctly... better height than milk crate seats, but with storage.
5 gallon bucket seating...do this instead of chairs for small group table, because 6 chairs don't all fit correctly. These might work better than the milk crates under the kidney tables. But maybe turn the bucket upside down and hot glue Velcro strips to the bucket and a cushion. The wider bottom could make it more sturdy. How much are buckets? Home Depot is gonna love me.
Paint Bucket Stools - a TALLER alternative to the milk crate seats!#Repin By:Pinterest++ for iPad#
This one's for you Kristina Grimes! Looks like your kind of classroom idea! I needed more seating in my classroom around my small group table, so I saw where someone made stools out of 5 gallon paint buckets. I tweaked their idea and made my own. Here is how I made them: 1. I went to Lowes and bought 5 buckets and lids. I then went to Hobby Lobby and bought some foam and fabric. I also bought some spray adhesive and some thin pieces of round wood. 2. I spray painted my buckets green to match my theme. Then I glued the wood to the foam and wrapped my fabric around them. Then I glued the cushion to the bucket lid. I added a little ribbon to give it a little more cuteness.

Expectations clearly defined http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/In-Our-Classroom-Posters-for-Classroom-Expectations-and-Community-Building-859268
(Norm) It is important to post the classroom rules and expectations somewhere in the classroom that is visible to students. This helps to remind them of the classroom expectations and helps them to monitor their behaviors when they glance over at the classroom behaviors, expectations and norms poster. This reflects a social space where students can agree on the norms.

Poster display for classroom expectations and community building. Would give it a revamp so it's not so juvenile but I love the text.
Poster display for classroom expectations and community building... can be made with construction paper, hole puncher & yarn.
NORM: I really like these classroom expectations. I like how they use "we". It's important that students understand that the classroom is a community and that everyone in it helps each other. I would definitely use this in my classroom.
Poster display for classroom expectations and community building: Maybe put our class contract for the year here?
This outlines classroom expectations nicely and in addition it's a great tool for community building. It helps students understand what's expected of them while also gives them control to learn how to act responsibly. Rather than outlining simply "raise your hand" it challenges them more by setting high expectations

Interesting for use of composition book. I'm thinking if i turn it on its side then it will make an excellent tabloid journal for science journals.
