    1572(?) Marguerite de Valois by ? (location unknown) Marguerite de Valois wears a dress with a huge neck ruff and Elizabethan outer ruff in this portrait. Portraits of Queen Elizabeth dressed like this will appear later in this page. This, and the straight hair cause me to believe this may have been painted posthumously.
