Pain can alter normal breathing, which in turn makes pain worse. Sometimes I notice I'm unconsciously holding my breath. It's then I remind myself to "just breathe." I just took a deep breathe after reading the statement above, and thought "How amazing that someone else does the same thing."
...then stop taking those beautiful things for granted and start focusing on them and how they make your life better. Once you do that, you can let go of the things in your life that bring you down and hold you back.
